Kibog Release notes – April 14, 2019

1.Introduction #

Welcome to another installment of Kibog release notes, the first in 2019! We are excited to keep improving your experience with new enhancements, bug fixes and related documents.

This article contains a list of changes that have been made to Kibog on April 13 2019.

2.Invoice from Suppliers is now called Bills from Suppliers #

To align with general accounting practices, we are relabeling the Invoice from Suppliers section within Work Orders -> Financial tab to Bills from Suppliers. All other functionalities of this section remain unchanged.

3.Track cost center ID and site ID for Customer Locations #

Added additional fields within Customers -> Locations to capture Cost Center ID and Site ID for that particular location. At this time, the system provides the ability to capture a single Cost Center ID per location.

4.Enable Site Administrators to manage their Kibog subscriptions #

We have further optimized Kibog to give Site Administrators more controls in managing their subscription. Site Administrators can now add and remove functionalities to their subscriptions, based on their changing needs. What this also does is that it remove unused and unsubscribed functionalities and only the subscribed functionalities are available to users. E.g, if your organization hasn’t subscribed for Asset Monitoring, then, that functionality will no longer be available to your organization and Asset Monitoring will not appear on top of your screen.

This may result in users seeing less menu items on their screen than they had before.

Site Administrators can manage subscriptions from the Configuration -> Site Settings -> Subscription page.

Note: Changing subscription has cost/fee implications.

5.Track Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with suppliers #

We have added an additional field in the supplier profile section called Non-Disclosure Agreement(NDA) in Place? to allow users to track if NDA’s are in place with a supplier or not. If the NDA document itself needs to be tracked, users can use the existing document upload capability to upload the signed NDA document. This allows organizations to manage risks and ensure compliance with company policy.

6.Changed how address is entered #

We have updated how users enter address. Previously, we had an automated function where based on a country selected, the state/province would be filtered and provided as an option and based on the state/province, the city options would be presented to the user. Though built with good intention to save time and maintain data integrity, it unfortunately caused issues and unpleasant user experiences.

After reviewing how leading software companies managed addresses, we have decided to remove the automation and provide users with the free-text ability to type in details. This simplifies the process and we expect it to improve user experience.

Users will notice these changes in the following sections where address is entered;

  1. Supplier Location
  2. Customer Location
  3. Company Profile
  4. User Profile

A sample of how the new fields look like is shown below. Note that the drop-downs for State/Province and City no longer exist and the screen will not refresh when you select Country.
